“Cold Comfort Part Three”

"Cold Comfort Part Three" sees Action Force closing in on Zartan’s Everglades hideout, but the Baroness has other plans—she’s heading to Springfield to meet the imprisoned Bludd about a deadly arrangement. As Destro and Firefly launch a surprise assault with the new Rattler jets, the Action Force fights back from the W.H.A.L.E. and Dragonfly, narrowly escaping the Commander’s clutches—only for Firefly to be left behind to clean up the mess, while Zartan and the Dreadnoks vanish northward, hunting the Pit. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by Marie Severin, with inks by Andy Mushynsky, colors by George Roussos, and letters by Rick Parker, the cover by Kev Hopgood and Dave Harwood captures the tension of the moment.

An Action Force strike force begins to converge on Zartan's hideout in the Everglades as the Baroness goes to Springfield to speak with an imprisoned Bludd to arrange for an assassination. Destro and Firefly attack the Action Force using the new tanksmasher jets (Rattler), but are repelled by the Action Force in the W.H.A.L.E. and Dragonfly, as the Commander escapes their grasp yet again, with Firefly left behind to clean up the 'mess' at the hideout, as Zartan heads north with the Dreadnoks to locate the Pit.
