Christina Z
Christina Z is an American comic book writer best known for co-creating the long-running Image Comics series *Witchblade* alongside artist Michael Turner. She wrote the first 39 issues of the series, establishing the tone and mythology of the supernatural artifact and its bearer, NYPD detective Sara Pezzini. Born in the United States, she entered comics in the mid-1990s, quickly becoming a key architect of the Top Cow universe. Her signature work blends crime noir with dark fantasy, often centering on strong, complex female protagonists. Beyond *Witchblade*, she contributed to related titles like *The Darkness* and *Tigra*, and later wrote the Virgin Comics miniseries *Shadow Hunter*, which featured adult film star Jenna Jameson. Z also maintained a parallel career as a music journalist for over two decades. Active in comics from 1995 to 2010, her foundational work on *Witchblade* helped define the look and feel of the Top Cow line during its formative years, leaving a lasting imprint on the genre.
