In comics, Koeb is best known for his work in the 1990s, where his visceral, textured style brought a gritty, painterly quality to the medium. He illustrated stories for Marvel’s *Clive Barker’s Hellraiser* series and the Vertigo miniseries *Faultlines*, as well as Alan Moore’s song adaptation “Hair of the Snake That Bit Me.” He also created the artwork for the character Sarah in the 1996 film *The Crow: City of Angels*. His most credited titles include *Faultlines*, *The Hacker Files*, *Interface*, and *Shock the Monkey*, where he often served as artist, colorist, inker, and letterer.

Koeb’s career in comics was relatively brief—active from 1990 to 1997—but his distinct visual approach left a mark on the alternative and horror comics of the era. His legacy endures among fans of 1990s Vertigo and independent comics.
