The six-issue Vertigo miniseries Faultlines closes out in October 1997 with this hauntingly atmospheric cover by Bill Koeb — a luminous, painterly image of a pale figure wreathed in antler-like branches confronting a snarling, fang-filled creature amid a forest bathed in warm amber and deep green. The tension between the ethereal figure and that gnashing maw gives the image a mythic, almost feverish quality that perfectly suits a mature-readers Vertigo finale.
