Wildside
Richard Gill is a mutant who surfaced as a founding member of the Mutant Liberation Front, a radical terrorist organization fighting for mutant supremacy. Operating under the name Wildside, he has since passed through the ranks of both the Weapon X program and the X-Men.
Bursting onto the scene in The New Mutants #86 in 1990, Wildside is a Copper Age Marvel creation from the powerhouse duo of Louise Simonson and Rob Liefeld β right at the explosive, high-energy moment when mutant comics were being reinvented. With appearances spread across X-Force, X-Factor, and The New Mutants, this character has carved out a persistent niche in the rougher corners of Marvel's mutant universe, sharing pages with heavy hitters like Cable, Stryfe, and Nathan Summers. Two of those 29 catalog appearances carry key-issue status, making Wildside a rewarding discovery for collectors digging into the era when mutant comics were at their most kinetic and uncompromising.
