Who is Tweedle Dee?

Tweedle Dee is a rotund Gotham City villain inspired by the Lewis Carroll character, operating as the partner of Tweedle Dum. The duo moves in the same criminal circles as other Alice in Wonderland-themed rogues, including the Mad Hatter.

Debuting in the pages of Grant Morrison and Chas Truog's landmark Animal Man run in 1990, this Copper Age oddity has carved out a peculiar niche in the DC Universe across more than three decades. Tweedle Dee is one of those delightfully sinister figures who haunts the stranger corners of Gotham, sharing pages with the likes of Batman, Jervis Tetch, and their rotund counterpart Tweedle Dum — company that speaks volumes about the wonderfully twisted world they inhabit. With appearances across Batman and Animal Man, this character bridges the surreal and the street-level in a way only DC's richest roster can manage. Eight catalog appearances may sound modest, but for fans who love the weird, winding back-alleys of comics history, Tweedle Dee is exactly the kind of find worth tracking down.
