Ogre
Ogre is a humanoid villain who debuted as an operative of the subversive organization Factor Three, which sought to pit humanity's superpowers against each other and destroy the X-Men. He served as the group's brutish enforcer and technical expert.
Roy Thomas and Werner Roth introduced Ogre into the Marvel universe back in 1967 through the pages of The X-Men #28 β a genuine Silver Age pedigree that places this character at the very roots of one of comics' most beloved franchises. Though appearances in the catalog are select rather than sprawling, Ogre has proven quietly durable, surfacing across more than five decades and leaving footprints in Thunderbolts alongside the likes of Jolt and Hallie Takahama. That kind of longevity across wildly different corners of the Marvel universe is its own testament to a character with staying power, and the presence of a key-issue appearance makes Ogre worth a second look for any serious Silver Age hunter. If you love the texture of early Marvel β the era when Thomas was building mythology brick by brick β Ogre is one of those rewarding finds hiding just beneath the headline names.
