Martin Blank
Martin Blank, better known as the Gibbon, is a Marvel villain and occasional anti-hero whose ape-like physiology gives him superhuman agility and climbing ability, despite no recorded powers in some catalogs. He debuted as a Spider-Man antagonist before drifting into more sympathetic territory.
A minor-league Marvel menace with a surprisingly long shadow, Martin Blank made his debut in the Bronze Age pages of The Amazing Spider-Man #110 back in 1972, courtesy of the legendary team of Stan Lee and John Romita. Over a remarkable stretch spanning more than five decades, this Spider-Man corner of the Marvel Universe has remained his stomping ground, sharing pages with heavy hitters like Kraven the Hunter and Kangaroo alongside the wall-crawler himself. With appearances across Superior Spider-Man and The Spectacular Spider-Man, Martin Blank is exactly the kind of deep-cut character that rewards the dedicated collector — proof that even the furthest reaches of Spider-Man's rogues' gallery have stories worth chasing down.
