Who is Leong Coy Manh?

Leong Coy Manh is the young brother of Xi'an Coy Manh (Karma), a Vietnamese refugee child whose perilous journey to America — and subsequent endangerment — drives much of his sister's early story as a founding New Mutant.

Leong Coy Manh made their Marvel debut in 1980's Marvel Team-Up #100 — a Bronze Age arrival brought to life by the formidable creative trio of Chris Claremont, Frank Miller, and Bob Wiacek, which alone signals this is a character worth tracking down. Over more than four decades of Marvel continuity, Leong has kept remarkable company, sharing pages with heavy-hitters like Wolverine and Logan alongside fellow characters Xi'an Coy Manh, Nga Coy Manh, and Karma. With appearances spanning titles as varied as Astonishing X-Men, Beast, and the Captain Britain Omnibus, this is a figure woven quietly but persistently into the fabric of the Marvel universe. Two of those appearances carry key-issue status for collectors — a small but meaningful footprint that makes hunting down Leong's moments all the more rewarding.
