Who is Iguanus?

Iguanus is a Decepticon who debuted during Marvel's run of the Transformers comic series. A reptilian-themed warrior fighting on the side of Megatron's faction, he operates amid the larger Cybertronian conflict against the Autobots.

A Decepticon presence since the late Copper Age, Iguanus crawled onto the scene in The Transformers #40 in 1988, brought to life by writer Bob Budiansky and artist José Delbo during Marvel's landmark run with the franchise. Though his catalog footprint is modest, he shares those pages with heavy hitters like Optimus Prime, Scorponok, Starscream, and Jazz — formidable company that speaks to the rich, chaotic world he inhabits. Preserved in the Transformers Compendium and still surfacing across a remarkable 37-year span, Iguanus is a rewarding deep-cut discovery for any serious Transformers collector who wants to go beyond the household names.
