G'nort
G'nort is a well-meaning but bumbling Green Lantern whose ring and membership in the Corps were obtained through nepotism rather than heroic merit, making him a comedic figure in DC's cosmic landscape. His incompetence became a running gag throughout Justice League International.
Few characters capture the gleeful absurdity of DC's late-'80s Copper Age quite like G'nort, who burst onto the scene in Justice League International #14 in 1988 courtesy of the legendary team of Keith Giffen, J. M. DeMatteis, and Steve Leialoha. A fixture across Green Lantern Corps Quarterly, Justice League International, and Green Lantern, this lovably offbeat figure kept remarkable company β sharing pages with the likes of Guy Gardner, Hal Jordan, and Kilowog across a publishing run that stretched all the way to 2015. With 25 catalog appearances and a key issue to his name, G'nort is a delightful reminder that the Green Lantern corner of the DC universe has always had room for characters who make you laugh as much as they make you cheer.
