Who is Doublecross?

Doublecross is a Monsterbot — an Autobot who transforms into a two-headed dragon — introduced during the Headmasters era, when Cybertron's warriors were evolving into more monstrous alternate forms to combat increasingly powerful Decepticon threats.

Bursting onto the scene in the pages of Marvel's The Transformers: Headmasters #1 in 1987 — courtesy of the legendary Bob Budiansky and Frank Springer — Doublecross is a Copper Age creation who entered the Transformers universe at one of its most ambitious moments, when the mythology was expanding in bold new directions. With only a handful of catalog appearances, Doublecross is a rare and elusive figure, the kind of character that makes dedicated collectors lean in closer, sharing pages with heavy hitters like Fortress Maximus, Chromedome, and Hardhead. That scarcity is its own kind of appeal — a glimpse into the sprawling, inventive world Marvel built around Hasbro's iconic robots in disguise, preserved across a publishing history that stretches all the way to 2025.
