Coachwhip
Coachwhip is a mercenary villain and member of the Serpent Society, the snake-themed criminal syndicate that frequently clashes with Captain America. She wields electrified whips in combat and operates alongside fellow Society members such as Puff Adder and Rock Python.
Slithering onto the scene in the pages of Captain America #342 in 1988, Coachwhip is a Marvel Copper Age villain with a pedigree that commands respect among serious collectors — debuting under the watchful eye of legendary Cap scribe Mark Gruenwald and artist Kieron Dwyer, no less. A card-carrying member of the Serpent Society, she moves in genuinely dangerous company, sharing adventures with the likes of Puff Adder and Rock Python across titles including Captain America, Spider-Woman, and The Amazing Spider-Man. With two key-issue appearances on her résumé and a publishing presence that stretches all the way to 2025, Coachwhip has proven far more durable than her modest appearance count might suggest. For fans of Marvel's rich villain ecosystem and the golden era of Gruenwald's Cap run, she's exactly the kind of deep-cut character worth tracking down.
