Beavis
Beavis is one half of a dim-witted, heavy-metal-obsessed teenage duo from Highland, Texas. Originally created by Mike Judge for MTV's animated series, the character was adapted into a Marvel comic series beginning in 1994.
Few characters capture the gloriously lowbrow spirit of 1990s pop culture quite like Beavis, who crashed into comics with Beavis & Butt-Head #1 in 1994 β a Marvel debut brought to the page by Rick Parker. Born of the Modern Age, this couch-bound icon shares his misadventures with his inseparable counterpart Butt-Head, plus the likes of Stewart Stevenson, and even the occasional Marvel heavyweight like Spider-Man, Peter Parker, and Logan, making for some of the most delightfully absurd crossover company in the publisher's catalog. With a run stretching across roughly three decades into 2024 and a collector-significant key issue to his name, Beavis has proven far more enduring than anyone might have predicted β a genuine artifact of an era when underground humor and mainstream comics collided in the most wonderfully ridiculous way possible.
