Born in the pages of a 1982 Ken Weiner publication and carried forward into the Fantagraphics underground, Babs Bradley is one of those quietly essential figures who helps anchor a whole fictional world — a recognizable face amid the gloriously dysfunctional company of Buddy, Betty, Butch, and Brad Bradley, as well as Lisa Leavenworth. She found her true home across nearly two decades in Fantagraphics' beloved Hate and Neat Stuff, cornerstone titles of alternative comics' most creatively fertile era.
