Western Crime Busters

Published by Trojan Magazines from 1950 to 1952, Western Crime Busters was a ten-issue comic series that blended frontier action with crime noir. Writer Fred Yates and artists including Wally Wood, Keats Petree, and Bill Zeller crafted terse stories of outlaws and lawmen in the Old West. Though short-lived, the series stands out for its gritty tone and the early work of Wood, who would become a legendary figure in comics.
