This anthology issue contains two Western crime stories. The first story depicts a confrontation between a cowboy lawman on horseback and a bully named "Bull" Slane, who is harassing an old man outside a saloon; the conflict escalates when a woman intervenes. The second story, "K-Bar Kate: Death in the Canyon," by R. Hayden, follows Kate at the K-Bar Ranch as she becomes involved with a new ranch hand named Hinson and becomes entangled in a criminal scheme involving a man named Galt, who blackmails her by threatening to reveal her past and demands she pose as a dance hall girl at the Blazing Bar Cafe.
