About the series
In the late 2000s, DC Comics revived a classic Golden Age hero with a dark, modern twist in The Web (2009–2010). This 10-issue series, steered by writers Angela Robinson, Matthew Sturges, and John Rozum, and brought to life by artists including Roger Robinson, Tom Derenick, and Talent Caldwell, reimagined the character as a ruthless vigilante who uses a high-tech suit and a network of informants to wage a one-man war on crime. The series matters as a bold, short-lived attempt to update a forgotten DC property for a post-Watchmen era, blending pulp action with psychological depth.
