The Three Stooges
St. John · 1953–1954 · 7 issues
About the series
In 1953 and 1954, St. John Publications brought the slapstick chaos of The Three Stooges to comic-book form, with seven issues that translated the trio's signature mayhem into paneled gags and cartoonish adventures. Writer and artist Norman Maurer, alongside publisher Archer St. John, anchored the series, capturing the wild physical comedy of Moe, Larry, and Shemp (and later Joe) for a young readership. Though short-lived, this series stands as an early, faithful adaptation of the iconic comedy team into the medium, preserving their anarchic spirit in a pre-television era.
