About the series
In the early 1970s, DC Comics revived the pulp icon The Shadow for a twelve-issue run that paired the master of darkness with a rotating team of top-tier talent. Writers Denny O'Neil, Michael Uslan, and Len Wein crafted tense urban adventures, while artists Frank Robbins, E. R. Cruz, and Michael Wm. Kaluta brought the fog-shrouded streets to life. This series kept Lamont Cranston, Margo Lane, and his network of agents—Shrevvy, Burbank, and Harry Vincent—at the heart of the action, bridging the character's pulp origins with a gritty Bronze Age sensibility.
