The Jaguar
DC · 1991–1992 · 14 issues
About the series
In the early 1990s, DC Comics launched this 14-issue series, a solo vehicle for the Golden Age hero the Jaguar, reimagined with a modern edge. Written primarily by William Messner-Loebs, with art from Chuck Wojtkiewicz, David Williams, and Ken Penders, the book followed a young man empowered by an ancient mystical jaguar spirit to battle crime and supernatural threats. A short-lived but ambitious revival, it stands as a curious footnote in DC’s early-'90s expansion of its lesser-known heroes.
