Issue six of Impact Comics' The Jaguar plunges the hero straight into "Winter Doom!" — and the cover by Chuck Wojtkiewicz and José Marzán Jr. makes the stakes immediately clear. The Jaguar, in her leopard-print costume, sprints forward as a massive, hulking snow creature erupts from a cascade of ice and debris behind her, all raw fury and jagged edges. It's a visceral, kinetic image that perfectly captures the collision of jungle-born power and wintry menace that William Messner-Loebs and the creative team were bringing to this 1992 series.
