About the series
In the mid-90s, Image Comics launched Prophet, a muscular, high-concept sci-fi series centered on the stoic, cybernetically enhanced super-soldier John Prophet and his allies, including the formidable Jackson Kirby. Over its 11-issue run, the book was primarily shaped by co-creator Rob Liefeld alongside writers Robert Napton and Bob Napton, with a rotating team of artists—most notably Stephen Platt, Dan Panosian, and Anthony Winn—bringing its explosive, detailed action to life. The series stands as a key example of the era's bombastic, creator-owned storytelling, establishing a gritty, future-war aesthetic that would later be reimagined in a celebrated reboot.
