About the series
In 2006 and 2007, DC Comics expanded the gritty, violent world of the classic anime Ninja Scroll into a twelve-issue comic series. Written primarily by J. Torres and Kelley Puckett, with striking art by Michael Chang Ting Yu and JonBoy Meyers, the series deepens the lore of the warring clans and the cursed Eight Devils of Kimon. It’s a notable early example of a major American publisher adapting a mature Japanese animated property for a direct comics audience, capturing the original’s dark samurai fantasy with fidelity.
