Marines Attack
Charlton · 1964–1966 · 9 issues
About the series
From 1964 to 1966, Charlton Comics published Marines Attack, a nine-issue war comic that focused on the gritty, ground-level experiences of U.S. Marines in combat. The series was a showcase for the prolific writer Joe Gill, who scripted most of the stories, with art duties frequently handled by Charles Nicholas, Sam Glanzman, and Art Cappello. Glanzman, a veteran himself, brought a particularly authentic, unglamorous touch to the book's depiction of battle. It stands as a solid example of Charlton's no-frills, action-driven war line from the mid-1960s.
