About the series
In the late 1960s, Western Publishing launched M.A.R.S. Patrol Total War, a short-lived but vividly imagined comic series that followed a multinational military force defending Earth from alien threats. With a rotating creative team that included writers Leo Dorfman, Bruce Jones, and John Baker, and the distinctive artwork of Mike Roy and legendary illustrator Wally Wood, the series blended Cold War-era military sci-fi with striking, detailed visuals. Though it ran only eight issues, its ambitious premise and Wood's iconic contributions have earned it a cult place in Silver Age adventure comics.
