About the series
Set during the American Civil War, this long-running Belgian comedy-western series from Dupuis follows the misadventures of the mismatched Union cavalrymen Caporal Blutch and Sergent Chesterfield. Launched in 1972, the series was primarily written by Raoul Cauvin and illustrated by Louis Salvérius, with Willy Lambil taking over art duties after Salvérius's passing. Over 69 albums, it has become a beloved staple of Franco-Belgian comics, blending slapstick humor with surprisingly well-researched historical settings.
