The 63rd entry in the beloved Belgian Civil War comedy series finds the blue-coated Union soldiers of Les Tuniques Bleues charging headlong into absolute chaos — Willy Lambil's cover captures a frantic advance, with flag-bearer, riflemen, and a wide-eyed sergeant scrambling across the rim of a massive crater as enormous explosions billow behind them in fiery orange. Raoul Cauvin's scenario and Lambil's artwork have long given this series its warm, irreverent energy, and this 2019 Dupuis album looks to deliver more of that same spirited blend of historical spectacle and comic misadventure.
