About the series
From 1953 onward, Charlton Comics’ Lawbreakers Suspense Stories ran for six issues, blending crime, suspense, and morality tales. The series is most associated with writers Carl Memling and Joe Gill, and artists Bob Forgione, Dennis Laugen, and Dick Giordano, who crafted taut, shadowy stories of criminals and their comeuppances. Though brief, it stands as a snapshot of early-1950s crime comics before the industry’s self-censorship shifted the genre.
