Golden-Age Men of Mystery

AC Comics’ Golden-Age Men of Mystery (1996–1999) spotlighted a rotating roster of classic, often obscure, costumed heroes from the 1940s and 1950s, many revived from the publisher’s own archives. Running 15 issues, the series showcased the work of veteran talents like Bob Powell, Dan Barry, Bill Ward, and editor/writer Bill Black, who helped shepherd these characters into a new era. A companion to the publisher’s Golden-Age Women of Mystery, it offered a nostalgic, unpretentious dive into the odd corners of pre-code superhero history.
