Frontier Western
Marvel · 1956–1957 · 10 issues
About the series
During the late 1950s, Marvel (then Atlas Comics) turned its sights to the Old West with Frontier Western, a ten-issue series that ran from 1956 to 1957. Scripted primarily by Stan Lee, the title featured rugged artwork from a rotating team of illustrators including Fred Kida, George Tuska, and Jack Davis. While it never reached the iconic heights of Marvel’s later superhero fare, the series stands as a solid example of the pre-superhero adventure comics that helped keep the publisher afloat during the industry’s post-war shift.
