From 1950 to 1952, Star Publications brought readers nine issues of Crime Fighting Detective, a gritty, post-war crime comic that leaned into hard-boiled atmosphere and procedural grit. The series is most remembered for the muscular, shadow-drenched artwork of George Peltz, Al McWilliams, and George Tuska, who gave each story a tense, cinematic edge.
