Bizarre Adventures

Marvel’s Bizarre Adventures (1981–1983) was a 10-issue anthology series that leaned into horror, fantasy, and offbeat storytelling, with Dennis O’Neil and Mike Carlin as its most frequent writers and a rotating roster of artists including John Bolton, John Buscema, and Michael Golden. The series is best remembered for its eclectic, often moody one-off tales, anchored by the recurring host Bucky Bizarre, who introduced each issue’s strange and unsettling narratives. Though short-lived, it showcased Marvel’s willingness to experiment outside its superhero mainstream, offering a darkly imaginative playground for its creators.
