About the series
In the late 1970s, Western Publishing brought the anime-inspired Battle of the Planets to American comics, adapting the adventures of the G-Force team—Jason, Keyop, Mark, Princess, and Tiny—as they battled the villainous Zoltar. Running for 10 issues from 1979 to 1981, the series was primarily written by Gary Poole, Charlie Seeger, and Bob Langhans, with artwork from Win and Winslow Mortimer. A key piece of the property's early multimedia expansion, this comic offered a print companion to the popular animated series, capturing its sci-fi action for a new generation of readers.
