About the series
In this short-lived 2002–2003 Marvel series, Gail Simone took the reins of a quirky, action-comedy espionage tale starring the amnesiac Agent X—a man with deadly skills and no memory of his past. Working alongside tough-as-nails Sandi Brandenberg and the morally flexible Taskmaster, the story wove together sharp dialogue and martial-arts mayhem, courtesy of the Udon creative team's dynamic art. A direct spin-off from Deadpool, Agent X carved its own niche with a lighter, more mysterious tone, exploring identity and loyalty in Marvel's underworld before its 15-issue run concluded.
