Tex Ritter is called in as deputy to stop a brewing range war between sheep and cattle ranchers around Pecos Gulch, where a ruthless sheep herder named Drake seems determined to spark bloodshed rather than settle the dispute. When Tex discovers that Drake is manipulating both sides to profit from the conflict, he sets out to bring the opposing factions together for peace—but Drake and his hired guns have other plans. Will Tex be able to prevent the feud from turning into an all-out war before more innocent lives are lost?

The rancher's skepticism grows as the story becomes increasingly outlandish, but Buffalo Bull's tall-tale logic reaches an absurd climax that leaves him with very different results than he bargained for.
