In this 1945 fantasy tale from Spotlight Comics #3, Mother Hubbard takes drastic measures when she senses the Ogres are once again hunting infants, using a potent potion to make their eyeballs pop out. When the Gnomes offer to retrieve the eyes in exchange for a daily bag of gold, the Ogres agree—only for the Gnomes to begin taking eyes from children instead. Mother Hubbard steps in to set things right, but the true cost of the bargain remains to be seen.
