Mother Hubbard senses that the Ogres are out once again to taste the flesh of infants, so she mixes some potions together and administers it to the baby eaters, and their eyeballs pop out. However, the Gnomes promise to retrieve the Ogre's eyes if the Ogres supply one bag of gold to them every day. They agree and supply the gold, then the Gnomes go out and secure eyes from children. Mother Hubbard intervenes and the eyes are returned to their owners.
