In the war-torn Leuchtenberg Republic, farmer Peter Zell turns to Blackhawk for help after Colonel Cloud’s oppressive regime sabotages his crops and kills his sister, Jan. With the skies perpetually clouded and the people desperate, Blackhawk and his team arrive to confront Cloud’s growing tyranny—only to find that the fog itself may be a weapon engineered to crush resistance.
In a lighthearted 1948 humor tale from Modern Comics #81, Will Bragg, a man with no real experience with pigs, pretends to be an expert to impress Miss Gissel and avoid embarrassment—only to be unexpectedly thrust into judging a pig show. As he stumbles through the judging process, his flimsy cover-up leads to a series of comical misunderstandings, especially when he’s mistaken for being smitten with a prize-winning pig named Billy Boy.
