“Patriot”

In "Patriot," young Eli (aka Patriot) grapples with identity and duty after spotting the Winter Soldier—Bucky Barnes—leaving his grandfather’s house. With help from Hawkeye and Wiccan, he tracks Barnes down, leading to a tense encounter with a Modoc Squad. Written by Ed Brubaker and illustrated by Paco Medina, with inks by Juan Vlasco and colors by Nathan Fairbairn, this issue explores what it means to be a patriot through a quiet, character-driven conversation between Barnes and Eli. The cover by Jim Cheung and John Dell captures the weight of that moment.
