Celeste confronts the Phoenix force inhabiting her and tries to bring it under some sort of control. The X-Men scramble to find a way to stop Celeste and Kitty discovers a machine deep in Weapon Plus powered by Cuckoo clones that Sublime created to use the power of the Phoenix to destroy all mutants. Emma plugs herself into a bio chamber to try and control her cloned daughters from within and seems to have a little success but the Phoenix force proves too powerful. Now with all three Cuckoo sisters inhabited by the Phoenix force, the mutant killing machine powers up.
