The Cuckoo sisters begin to use the power of the Phoenix to activate a Weapon Plus mutant-killing machine, but Celeste fights her two siblings off to prevent this from happening. Celeste destroys the hordes of Cuckoo clones trapped in Weapon Plus. The trio of Cuckoos turn their hearts into diamonds and trap the Phoenix force inside, never to be released again. With Weapon Plus shut down and the Phoenix power contained, the X-Men return home.
