In "Fatal Attractions: Dreams Fade," the X-Men launch a desperate mission to reclaim Avalon, where the stakes are raised when Magneto extracts adamantium from Wolverine’s body and Professor X disables Magneto’s mind in a bid to end the conflict. As the team returns to Earth, Colossus remains behind to tend to the fallen enemy, leaving the aftermath of battle and sacrifice unresolved.
