In X-Men: Blind Science #1, the X-Club is dispatched to investigate Bastion’s oil rig off the San Francisco coast—only to stumble into a future where the X-Men have defeated Bastion, but Hope’s powers are spiraling out of control, threatening to consume the world. Written by Simon Spurrier and illustrated by Paul Davidson and Francis Portela, with colors by Chris Sotomayor and letters by Rob Steen, this issue sets a tense, uncertain tone as Dr. Rao considers a desperate solution: recreating her mutant "curing" virus to save Hope. The cover, by Gerald Parel, captures the eerie stillness of a world on the edge.

The X-Club are sent to investigate Bastion's oil rig off the coast of San Francisco, but the team instead finds themselves in a future where the X-Men beat Bastion and Hope's powers are quickly consuming the world. Their only chance appears to be for Dr. Rao to recreate her mutant "curing" Hope virus and administer it to the core of Hope herself. But, things aren't always what they seem.
