This anthology issue contains two stories. In "The Gift Horse," Wyatt Earp pursues outlaws and uncovers a scheme involving Jason Greener, who has paid for the assassination of Earp and his deputies; however, the plot is revealed and Greener descends into madness, vowing to kill Earp and Luce himself. In "Maverick Marshal" and its continuation "The 1 Way," bank robbers Luster and Robin are caught by Earp after they're spotted at a bank, leading to a gunfight in an alley where the criminals attempt to escape by hiding in a box labeled "PINA CO."
