A gunfighter named Masters comes to a ranch seeking a man faster with a gun than himself, claiming his hand swings close to his gun. When a ranch hand is shot, Masters is suspected, but Wyatt Earp investigates and discovers Masters is actually searching for someone specific. Earp learns Masters shot the ranch hand in a confrontation and plans to settle the matter through a fair fight in town rather than direct confrontation.
