World of Archie (Jumbo Comics) Double Digest #50

Jul 2015 · Archie · 4.99 USD
“The World of Archie!”

In "The World of Archie!", Archie’s world gets a surprisingly literal twist when Cricket O'Dell, a girl who can literally smell money and is drawn to wealth like a magnet, sets her sights on the Lodge family’s fortune—leading Archie to pass her along to Reggie Mantle. When Reggie’s attempts to shake her fail, he tries a new tactic: he hands over some cash to Jughead, who instantly becomes Cricket’s next target. Written by Frank Doyle and illustrated with classic flair by Harry Lucey—whose pencils, inks, and coloring bring the absurdity to life—this lighthearted tale from the 2015 Double Digest #50 features a delightfully silly premise and a cover by Fernando Ruiz and Bob Smith.

Meet Cricket O'Dell, a girl who is obsessed with money. She not only loves money, she can literally smell it. And she'll follow any man who has money. When she shows signs of being attracted to Archie because of his connection to the "gorgeously rich" Lodges, Archie passes her off to a man with more money, Reggie Mantle. After a night of doing the things that Cricket considers fun (like listening to a record of slot machines in Las Vegas), Reggie has to find a way to get rid of her, so he gives some money to Jughead, causing Cricket to follow him instead.
