World of Archie (Jumbo Comics) Double Digest #34
In "A Christmas Story," Archie's friends navigate a holiday season full of quirky missteps, starting with Melody embracing Clyde Didit’s free-spirited style—shoes optional. When Mr. Tuttle tries to restore order, chaos erupts after Pepper and Sock accidentally detonate the chemistry lab, filling the school with tear gas. With the school shut down, Alex offers his mansion as a temporary refuge, but things go hilariously off track when Alex and Josie end up plowing through the house instead of the snow. Written by Frank Doyle and illustrated by Dan DeCarlo, with inks by Rudy Lapick and letters by Bill Yoshida, this festive double digest tale captures the classic charm of the Archie universe, all wrapped up in a cover by Dan Parent and Rich Koslowski.

Clyde Didit's hippie style inspires Melody to imitate his fashion choices and lack of shoes. Mr. Tuttle figures out a way to curb this outbreak of nonconformism without risking violence. Violence ensues anyway when Pepper and Sock accidentally blow up the chemistry lab, filling the school with tear gas. Alex offers the use of his mansion while the school is being aired out, but while the other students are using Mr. Cabot's indoor swimming pool as study hall, Alex and Josie drive a snow plow right into the house.
