“Inn Trouble! (Part One)”

"Inn Trouble! (Part One)" kicks off a delightfully quirky adventure in World of Archie Double Digest #29, where Albert stumbles upon an enchanted songbook by the legendary Salem witch Samantha Spellbinder. Written by Frank Doyle and brought to life with classic charm by Dan DeCarlo, Rudy Lapick, and Bill Yoshida, the story sees Albert’s guitar playing unleash magical love spells—only for everyone to fall head over heels for trees, rocks, and mailboxes. Melody, the one immune to the spell, must guide her friends back to real romance, all in a tale that blends whimsy and heart. The cover by Fernando Ruiz and Bob Smith captures the charm perfectly.

Albert gets an old book of songs written by "Samantha Spellbinder", a witch from Salem, Massachusetts. Whenever he plays her way-out chords on his guitar, the magic of the music causes anyone within earshot to fall in love -- but only with inanimate objects like trees, rocks, and mailboxes. Only Melody is unaffected by the spell, because she already loves everything and everyone. And it's up to Melody to show everyone that true love is for people, not for things.
