About this Collection
This 2003 collection brings together issues #171–#177 of the Wonder Woman ongoing series, written by Phil Jimenez and featuring art by Jimenez and J.M. DeMatteis. The story arc follows Diana as she faces a devastating attack on Themyscira and the revelation of a hidden sect of Amazons, forcing her to confront the true nature of her homeland's paradise. It's a pivotal chapter that reshapes the mythology of the Amazons and Wonder Woman's place in the DC Universe.
In "Bird of Prey," Wonder Woman leads a desperate alliance as the Amazons deploy Paradise Island to stall Brainiac 13’s advance on Earth. With help from Troia and Tempest, she aids Darkseid in reigniting Apokolips, forging a Boom Tube that could send Brainiac 13 and Imperiex back to the dawn of time. Written and illustrated by Phil Jimenez, with inks by Andy Lanning and colors by Patricia Mulvihill and Heroic Age, this pivotal issue features a striking cover by Adam Hughes.
